Monday was a big day for the NFL’s top tier free agency as they waited patiently to see if they would be designated as the their team’s “franchise” or “transition” players. For Seahawks DE Michael Bennett the day passed without either of those situations coming to fruition and now Bennett is only 8 days away from being able to sign with another team. However Bennett says he isn’t worried about what free agency has in store for him.
“Obviously they want me to be a Seahawk for the rest of my career,” Bennett said, via the Seattle Times. “But everything plays into the numbers. Have to make sure everything is right.”
If things aren’t right with Seattle, Bennett said he’s “not worried about the outcome” of his foray into free agency. He settled for a one-year deal last year, but played a leading role on defense for the Super Bowl champs last season and feels confident that he’ll land a better deal this time around.-ProFootballTalk.com
Bennett earned a much larger deal with his play this season and will get paid by someone if he and the Seahawks can’t come to an agreement.
