Jason Garrett says there is a lot to be proud of from Sunday’s games

Since becoming the Cowboys permanent HC in 2011 Jason Garrett is 24-24. 3 of those losses have come on consecutive week 17’s when the Cowboys have needed a win to get in to the playoffs. That includes yesterday’s loss against the Eagles. Even with the disappointing loss Garrett said the Cowboys have a lot to be proud of.

“We understand it’s a bottom line business and we did not get the job done,” Garrett said. “There’s a lot to be proud of with this football team, a lot to be proud of the performance last night.”

Ultimately, Garrett knows that no matter how proud of his team he is, his team fell short of its goal.

“We’ve done that the last three years, we played the last game of the season for the NFC East and we didn’t get the job done,” Garrett said. “And we all have to live with that.”

Garrett will get another season in Dallas to make amends for disappointments of seasons past but everyone understands that pride won’t save any jobs.
