Eric Reid’s life has been spent in Louisiana from his birth in Baton Rouge through college at LSU. It isn’t much of a surprise that Reid grew up cheering for the New Orleans Saints. Now as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, he must face them.
“There are so many things to like about Eric,” said 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh. “He is a tough guy. He is a smart guy. He’s a good guy, a good person. He is very athletic, good size, good speed, obtains information, makes a mistake and learns from it.
“Most of all, he shows up, works hard and he listens, great quality to have as a football player. I’ve been really pleased with his play, his progress and I like being around him every day.”-NOLA.com
Jim Harbaugh had to have been ecstatic when Reid was sitting there at 18 overall after the Saints passed up Reid for Texas Safety Kenny Vaccaro with 15th pick in the NFL Draft. Harbaugh heavily recruited Reid while at Stanford and Reid now gets the chance to show the Saints that they missed out on the hometown kid.
