Philadelphia Eagles running back DeMarco Murray was very honest when asked about Thursday’s blow out loss to the Detroit Lions.
“It’s frustrating. I’ve never been a part of anything like this…We’re not doing what we’re supposed to do on the field and it’s hurtful, it’s painful to sit back and play the way we’ve played the last two weeks and all you can do is learn from it and try to work hard and bust your tail and try to go from there,” Murray said after Thursday’s loss.
Things certainly don’t like they’ll get better anytime soon for Philly. It will continue to be a long season for Murray and the Eagles.
With the Philadelphia Eagles’ heading towards dumpster fire status at this point, head coach Chip Kelly is expected to get fired at the end of the season.
The good news for Kelly is that there might be a college job already waiting for him.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport says that USC is interested in Kelly.
“My understanding is that after the ugly loss to the Lions in front of the entire country, Chip Kelly was despondent, frustrated and feeling the heat for the first time, aware it seems that his job status may actually be in doubt after grabbing all the power this past offseason. That said, he seems intent on fixing this issue, understands that his back is against the wall and is looking at making some possible changes with a little mini break after theThanksgiving day game.
“But at the end of the season he is gonna face a decision,” Rapoport continued. “It seems it is a little bit of a longshot for it to come from another NFL team, but USC still maintains interest in Chip Kelly. It seems like they will at least touch base with him after the season. He is gonna have to make a call on what his future holds after this season with the Eagles ends.”
The only NFL team right now that’s interested in Kelly is the Tennessee Titans.
“Do not discount the Tennessee Titans, especially if Kelly did not want personnel control, which of course would seem to be a huge ask considering what happened in Philly this year,” Rapoport said.
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter dropped a pretty nugget during an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio on Tuesday about the Philadelphia Eagles and head coach Chip Kelly.
“The momentum and signs seem to be piling up against a Chip return to Philadelphia. I think both sides are sick of each other. I think the fans are tired of him, I think he’s tired of the situation there – just my read from afar … I just think that Chip Kelly, if given a choice, might be comfortable elsewhere …,” said Schefter.
I’m sure not one Eagles fan is surprised by this. They’re likely rejoicing.
So what now. Does Kelly go back to college?
With the New York Giants and quarterback Eli Manning on the brink of finalizing a new four-year, $84 million contract, that will pay him $21 million per year, there are many people who will say he’s not worth that kind if money.
Now I know the Giants haven’t made the playoffs since their 2011 Super Bowl run, but you have to factor in how much rebuilding they’ve had to do since then.
First of all, 2011 was only four years ago and the Giants have a new receiving corp, except for Victor Cruz who suffered a serious knee injury last season. Their running backs are completely different and their offensive line has been revamped. And when you look at their defensive line it’s obvious they don’t have a credible pass rusher other than Jason Pierre-Paul who still needs to prove he can be the pro bowl player was in 2011.
When you look at Manning’s body of work from 2014, you’ll actually noticed it was one of his best NFL seasons after completing 63 percent (career high) of his passes for 4,410 yards (2nd highest in his career) and 30 touchdown passes (another career high). It’s obvious the West Coast Offense is a great fit for Manning and the Giants are banking on him continuing to trending upward even at the age of 34.
Now I know Manning and the Giants haven’t won a Super Bowl in four years or like I said earlier, haven’t even made the playoffs during that span of time. But he hasn’t shown any signs of falling off after the way he played last season and the two Super Bowl titles he brought to the Giants are enough of a reason to pay him.
The Big Lead is reporting that the Washington Redskins forced Scot McCloughen’s wife to apologize for her lewd tweets towards ESPN NFL reporter Dianna Marie Russini as she accused of her of giving away sexual benefits in order to get inside information on the Redskins.
Below was Jessica McCloughan’s apology. As you can see it was clearly written by someone else. Likely the Redskins.
“I deeply apologize for the disparaging remarks about an ESPN reporter on my personal Twitter account,” Jessica McCloughan said in a statement to PFT, which was issued by the franchise. “The comment was unfounded and inappropriate, and I have the utmost respect for both the reporter and ESPN. I regret that my actions have brought undeserved negative attention to the Redskins organization and its leadership. My comments in no way reflect the opinions or attitudes of the organization and I regret that my behavior has in any way negatively impacted the team and its loyal fan base.”
As you can see in the tweet below, Jessica had tweeted Russini before and accused her of being a “side chick.”
Radar Online caught up with a family member of Jessica McCloughan’s that claims to be her sister-in-law.
“Shannon Rutherford, Jessica’s sister-in-law, told Radar that she knew about Jessica’s belief that her husband was cheating on her with the reporter, confirming that she has been aware ‘for a few weeks’ about the ‘side chick’ prior to the Twitter scandal.”
Rutherford also claims that the Redskins did pressure Jessica to apologize.
As you can see in the photos below with each countdown to the NFL regular season a Redskins player has been featured by the team on their Twitter account.
Well instead of skipping 10, the Redskins went with it and put left tackle Trent Williams on the promo instead of Robert Griffin III who was just benched in favor of Kirk Cousins.

Back in 2012–Robert Griffin III’s rookie season–Redskins fan Emmanuel Vega named his son after the former Baylor star after winning a bet with his girlfriend who’s a Cowboys fan when Washington defeated Dallas on Thanksgiving. If the Cowboys would have their son would have been named after Miles Austin.
“For an NFL team like us, it was just hope, just any hope,” said Emanuel Vega, the father of young Robert Griffin Vega, age 2. “As Redskins fans, it was like RGIII was going to save our franchise. Everyone got lost. Everyone got crazy.”
He doesn’t regret naming his son after RG3.
“I don’t regret it at all,” Vega told me. “I really respect the guy a lot. I mean, I don’t know a lot about him personally; all I know is what I read and what I see. I don’t know, I guess I’m biased. I’m an RGIII guy. A lot of people say he’s full of himself or he’s an egomaniac, but I don’t see it. I think he knows what he wants; he just wants to be the best quarterback he can, and you can’t blame him. I would just tell him you did everything right, and just don’t ever stop.”
Redskins owner Dan Snyder could really care less about his fans. All he wants is money.
It costs $50 to leave a ticket @ will call 4 someone if you aren't a season ticket holder. This is the last Redskins game I'll be attending.
