Last week against the Jets the Raiders saw RB snaps go to players listed as CB and FB with all of the injuries to their RBs. Luckily for the Raiders RB Rashad Jennings has cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol to play this week.
Raiders running back Rashad Jennings said Monday that he was formally cleared to play next week against the Kansas City Chiefs.
He missed Sunday’s loss to the New York Jets with concussion-like symptoms dating back to a Thanksgiving loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He was inadvertently kicked in the back of the helmet, which drove his helmet into the turf.-CSNCalifornia.com
Jennings has earned what appears to be a starting role in Oakland overtaking RB Darren McFadden. The Raiders could certainly use the boost that Jennings will bring to the offense, although FB Marcel Reece had a great game amassing over 120 rushing yards the Raiders would prefer him to play with Jennings and have them both on the field.
