Alex Smith on being called a game manager: I have no idea what that means

Throughout Alex Smith’s career he has been labeled as a game manager. Smith was asked to give his thoughts on the label on NFL Network.

“I have no idea what that means,”

“At this point in my career I’ve been playing long enough that I don’t really care what anybody’s saying,” Smith said. “I care about the guys in this locker room, the guys in this building and going out there and winning football games. They can call me whatever they want to call me as long as we’re winning, so fine with me.”-ProFootballTalk.com

What the title means is that Alex Smith is a QB that won’t make a mistake that will lose a team a game but he also won’t win for them. A safe QB option is definitely what Alex Smith is but with the way his supporting cast is playing that may be exactly what the Chiefs need . Game manager or not the Chiefs are doing what they need to do, win football games.
