Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak told reporters on Monday that Brock Osweiler will start over Peyton Manning for this week’s matchup against the undefeated New England Patriots.
Kubiak admits that their balanced attack against the Chicago Bears helped them come away with a win.
“It helped our team. Not just Brock,” Kubiak said, via the Denver Post. “It helped our whole football team. Yesterday we did not protect our quarterback as good as we needed to — I think we had five sacks (and) there’s a couple Brock will learn from, too. But we stayed in rhythm with what we were doing, kept our third downs manageable. … It obviously helped us offensively, but it helped our football team.”
While many people have been wondering if Osweiler could come in a replace Manning, he hasn’t looked bad after completing 34 of 51 pass attempts for 396 yards, three touchdowns and one interception this season.
