Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew is hopeful that he’ll get a new contract before the season starts.
“This is the side of the NFL that’s just as real as Sunday,” Jones-Drew told the NFL Network. “This is what the NFL is really about. What I can say is that I hope that we can get something done.”
Jones-Drew knows that it’s beneficial for him to publicize his unhappiness with his contract.
“To talk about it in the media is not going to help,” Jones-Drew said. “Hopefully we can have something where we can be able to get out there and play in the future.”
