It is almost impossible to name the NFL’s top-tier receivers without mentioning Bengals third year star AJ Green, but Green isn’t making top-tier money. Green is scheduled to make just over $3 million. He isn’t complaining though, he knows he’s earned a big pay-day in the near future.
Green will be in the final year of his rookie contract in 2014 with the Bengals holding an option for the 2015 season and while he would like to see a new deal done before the end of next year, he said Monday that it isn’t a matter of immediate urgency.
“Anybody would like to have it done,” Green said, via ESPN.com. “I’m not in any financial debt, so no rush.”
Green was confident that “my body of work speaks for itself” and he’s got good reason to be. Green has 260 catches for 3,833 yards and 29 touchdowns in his first three seasons and set career highs for catches and yards in 2013.-ProFootballZone.com
Green has been a phenomenal weapon for the Bengals and they will be happy to compensate him with a lucrative long-term deal sooner rather than later.
