Coming out of Georgia Tech WR Stephen Hill followed in a recent line of big, strong, successful receivers in Calvin Johnson and Demaryius Thomas. The Jets certainly hope that Hill can have the same success as the other recent GT WR alums, and apparently Hill thinks he is capable.
“Honestly, I feel like I can be that guy even if [Holmes] is out there on the field,” Hill said. “That’s just my competitiveness; that’s what I feel like I can do. If I can be that No. 1 wide receiver, that’s what I’m striving for. He’s definitely going to make that comeback sooner or later, but other than that I’m definitely striving to be that No. 1 guy.” -ESPNNY July 31st
With Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards both entering the year with question marks Hill will get his chance to shine. He certainly has the height/weight/speed dynamic that coaches dream about it is just a matter of putting it all together for the 2nd year receiver.
