League considering fining Wilkerson, Coples for hit on Jake Locker

Titan’s QB Jake Locker suffered a hip injury on Sunday against the Jet’s that will likely hold him out at least a few weeks. The injury was dealt by Jets defensive ends Muhammad Wilkerson and Quinton Coples. The NFL is now trying to determine if the hit was clean.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the league is considering fines for Jets defensive ends Muhammad Wilkerson and Quinton Coples for their actions on the hit. Wilkerson said after the game that one of the league’s officials told him that he had delivered a legal hit on Locker, who had just delivered a pass, and Locker then came down awkwardly after Coples hit him from the other side.-NBCSports.com

Whether or not the hits were clean or not the league must due its due diligence to protect its players and especially QBs.
