Tom Brady moving on from comments made by Antonio Smith

Antonio Smith said that he was ” very suspicious” of some adjustments that the Patriots were making offensively to shifts along the Texans defense. Tom Brady ┬ásays he’s been through this before

“We’ve kind of been through a lot of this before,” Brady told the “Dennis & Callahan show” on WEEI sports radio in Boston. “I don’t really think much of it, truthfully. I just kind of have moved on. I’ve already started work on the Browns [the Patriots’ Week 14 opponent], trying to find a way to play those guys better and get off to a better start.”

Smith suggested that the Patriots were prepared for changes the Texans made to their defense that hadn’t previously been seen on film. He suggested he saw changes the Patriots made to their own offense that weren’t previously seen on film. Later Monday, Smith said his comments were taken more seriously than he intended.

“I just think it will be a big coincidence if that just happened by chance,” he said. “I don’t know for sure, but I just know it was something that we practiced this week.”

“Either teams are spying on us or scouting us,” he added.-ESPN.com

Bill Belichick is a great head coach, that will make adjustments at the half. With the charges that have been levied against the Patriots in the past regarding spy-gate it isn’t a surprise that players would make allegations like these.

I watched the game and saw adjustments constantly accruing on both sides, not unusual! If any team cheats I would stand up and deplore the practice. I am a Patriots fan and was truly dismayed with the first incident, However, just based on the fact the Patriots were able to overcome adjustments that Houston made should not be construed as cheating, no more than me accusing Houston of cheating in the first half when they seemed to dominate play. Lets face it Houston has not exactly been stellar in the first 10 or 11 games of the season and to suddenly play that well might leave one to ponder, cheating? I don’t believe either team was cheating in this game. Without proof other than playing well it’s hard for me to believe cheating is the most logical conclusion to draw. Players or fans should refrain from unfounded accusations, it does not add to the game.
