New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman says he won’t need to undergo x-rays even though there was a report of him walking to the x-ray room at Gillette Stadium following Saturday’s playoff win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Everyone’s sore,” said Edelman, after playing for the foot time since breaking his foot back in November. “I finished the game and feel good enough to get ready to prepare for next week.”
Edelman explained how excited he was to get back on the field.
“I was like a kid waiting to open up presents on Christmas or Hanukkah,” he said.
Edelman struggled early as he dropped a few passes, but he ended up with 10 catches for 100 yards, but was unable to get into the end zone.
The Patriots will now wait and see whether they’ll play the Pittsburgh Steelers or Denver Broncos in next week’s AFC Championship in Foxboro.
No matter who the Pats play, I can’t imagine them losing and not playing in their second straight Super Bowl. The Broncos would be a tougher match up than the Steelers because of how good their pass defense is.
New England would likely have to run the ball more and use James White out of the back field against Denver.
