Bills rookie LB Kiko Alonso has to be considered a favorite for Defensive Rookie of the year. He is 8 tackles away from the league lead and has forced four interceptions. Alonso has played all 941 defensive snaps. Unfortunately for the Bills and Alonso he has a slight knee injury that is risking his streak and his availability on Sunday.
Alonso was a limited participant on both Wednesday and Thursday, and then suffered a setback on Friday according to head coach Doug Marrone. The knee injury is bothering the rookie, but the coach remained upbeat.
“He tweaked it,” Marrone said. “Obviously we list it like we are, but talking to him in his mind, he wants to play. I think we’ve got 48 hours, then we’ll see how it goes.”-WGR550.com
The Bills probably could get by without Alonso taking on the Jaguars’ 32nd ranked rushing game.
